Hari Merdeka Celebration and Charity Function For Red Barnet 2003

We Malaysians in Denmark celebrated our national independence day with Hari Merdeka Celebration and Charity Function For Red Barnet on the 4th October 2003 organised by the Merdeka Party Committee (ie. Vindy, Poo Chu, Alice, Latipah and Siti Meriam) and the Malaysian Danish Association.  It was held in the canteen of our Honorary Consulate's office and was attended by a total of 161 people.

We do try our best to contribute to the local community.  One of the ways to do so is by raising funds for the needy organisations, and the Merdeka Celebration was a charity function for Red Barnet, which is a children's charity.  It was an evening with excellent multi cultural performances, goodwill and generosity amongst the attendees.

Here are some of the main sponsors that showed their support in such good cause:-  Malaysia Airlines System, The Honorary Consulate for Malaysia, The Malaysian Embassy in Stockholm, Chinese Town Market, Ella Kamarrudin, Faridah Sheikh Ahmad, Fei Hei Restaurant, Frederiksberg Svømmehal, Herman Suherman & Siti Meriam, J.A. Textile Agency, Latipah Sørensen, Leif Sehested, SIA (Jan Rasmussen), Super Brugsen, Tann Hian Long (Tre Små Kinesere), and Yan's Wok.

Not forgetting to mention all our talented guest performers and our fellow Malaysians for their superb multi cultural performances, that kept us entertained throughout the whole evening.  They were Josephine Olsen, Vivi Petersen, Dhusakaran Ragunathan, Danny Sørensen, Faridah Sheikh Ahmad, Maryam Vosoughi, Rosalyn Venning, Siti Meriam, Herman Suherman and The Chinese Women's Association.

Last but not least, I am glad to have being a part of the event, and I am surely looking forward to the next Hari Merdeka Celebration on the 4th September, 2004.

Thank you to all sponsors, performers, helpers, guests, MDA Exco members, and their families and friends who had contributed their precious time, energy, effort and financial support, to make this meaningful and noble event a success!

Syabas, MALAYSIA BOLEH!!!

Here are some photos from my personal collection, taken on that memorable evening.  Enjoy!
