About Malaysia, Denmark, Me and Web Site

TO BOTTOM

Malaysia is a beautiful tropical country, with natural landscapes, flora and fauna, and the ever pulsating development in the cities. It is a multi racial country, where you can enjoy the various different cultures, languages and cuisines of its people, Orang Malaysia!

It is a splendid place for tourists from all over the world. Peaceful and warm friendly locals is always a familiar sight. Shopping is great as it offers top brands, and the latest products but yet, compared to its neighbouring countries, prices are good.

Likewise as in Denmark, although it is a smaller country by size, it has its uniqueness, beauty and is truly an interesting country with its friendly Danes welcoming just any tourist and foreigner from all over the world to visit, or to live in.

About Me

I was working as a teacher and a lecturer in a teachers' training college in Malaysia. I have been commissioned by the King as 2nd Lieutenant in the Malaysian Voluntary Armed Forces (Pegawai Simpanan Tentera Darat, Askar Wataniah ATM).

In January 2000, I moved to Denmark. It was not a good time to get the "culture shock" as it was a very cold winter, with extremely short daylight hours. Then I saw the white falling snow that covered all the branches, ground and rooftops. What a wonderful sight...

We have about 200 Malaysians living here in Denmark. We are spread all over the country.  But luckily for me, many are located in and around Copenhagen.

About This Web Site- An Open Network of Communication Worldwide

With the availability of convenient and efficient communication services and IT, I hope that we, the Malaysians living here could use this website, and the associated forum, as a place to come together and share our knowledge and experiences, or perhaps to catch up with our "Rumah Terbuka or Open House", "Yum Cha or Drink Tea" culture and the Danish's "Hygge"

Internationally, we could contact other Malaysians or nationalities who wishes to have a closer network of communication with us from all over the world! Thus the success to achieve it, depends on you who visits here. So, come on let's try it!

Since this website is built for anyone who would like to share and gain some knowledge about Malaysia, Denmark, etc. I am keen to hear from you and your feedback so that I could improve this homepage for you.

I would like to show my gratitude to Wendy, a close internet friend from U.K. who has encouraged and helped me about website building and guided me when I started creating my first website in February 2004.

Coincidently, later that month I was approached by the webmaster of Malaysian Danish Association (MDA) to help him maintain the website until end June when it was taken over by another webmaster. Although it was only for 5 months, but it was truly a great experience and I am happy that I was given a chance to contribute voluntarily to MDA.

After that, I continued with my voluntary effort and learning as much as possible about websites and thus created several websites which includes a forum group Malaysians In Denmark Forum Group/Message Board and this website called "Malaysians In Denmark"! Please check out the several "Links" in this website at the top of this page! Enjoy!
